Perth is a mining town. Its a bit rough and there's a lot of immigrants yourself included. Welcome!

The best surburbs are all between the coast and the freeway (mitchell/kwinana)

South of the swan river is mainly low density.

North of the river is higher density.

Depends if you want lots of people around.

Dont go for a suburb east (inland) of the freeway. You are asking for trouble.

Many people move to Perth expecting an increase in standards and living because the wages are high. Dont fall in this trap.

Many houses are old and dilapidated and rented out at extreme prices. Its not a great place unless you like to work hard and get paid lots. Otherwise its quite difficult. Many RE agents will swindle you its a dog eat dog city.

Traffic along canning highway and the freeways is very bad. So try to get a place as close to your work as possible otherwise prepare to spend 2-3 hours a day driving.
