Overwhelmed! It seems so many Brisbane burbs are considered good, can u narrow them down.

We are moving to Brisbane from NZ in July and we need a home in a family friendly area that is up to 20 min commute to city on public transport (Ann st). We love parks, cafes, the convienience of shopping and we want a house with some yard. We will probably be going to the airport a lot too, so we dont want to be at the furtherest point from it. We can afford rent up to $600 p/w for a quality 2-3 bdrm. We dont need nightlife! Any suggestions that might help me narrow them down?

Hi Roz,

Try Toowong, Indooroopilly, Bardon area - all pretty close to the city with good transport, cafes and shops. There are a lot of good schools in the area too. The airport is pretty easy to get to from those areas too as you are close to the inner city bypass which will take you out that way.

Alternatively, you could try Clayfield or Eagle Junction. They are closer to the airport but a little further from the city. There are train stations and buses in the area too.

Hope this helps.

You'll find plenty of good suburbs offering what you're after, but if you intend to use public transport to commute, I strongly recommend aiming for a suburb which has a train station ast trains are far more reliable that the buses, because of the terrible traffic!
I commute from Darra (a South-western suburb) and it takes me about 20 minutes on the train to get to the CBD. and it's an express train too!
Good luck in your search, and don't hesitate to send me a message if you need more detailed information on available rentals. I work for a real estate company, so we will be able to help you there!
Cheers,
Philippe
