Closest suburbs to Brisbane CBD

I am planning to move to Brisbane and my husband's workplace is in the CBD. We are looking for a suburb close to the city with good public transport, which would be suitable for a family with a kid, and with good primary and secondary public school. A suburb which is safe and friendly!
