Nice places to live as a young couple in Queensland?

Moving from Victoria to Queensland in April for a short work contract. thinking of looking into buying a house up there. Wanting to know if anyone recommends any towns worth popping into for a squiz. We like to be close to gyms, shopping etc, just don't want to live in any capital city. Port Douglas is one of our highest choices but were looking around at anything else.

Hi Daneka,

Sunshine Coast is a beautiful place to live and of course my home town Gold Coast. Cairns and Townsville is another good place but the Gold Coast would have the most choice in terms of schools, shops, houses, beaches and jobs. Queensland in general has much more consistent weather so Wherever you choose, you can be assured that we are the Sunshine State.
