"Great spot if you enjoy the bustle."

As a Property Manager, I spend quite a lot of time in and around Hawthorn. Liddiard St is a joining street and runs from Glenferrie Road through to Auburn Rd and is quite busy with cars and foot traffic. There is a lovely mix of both homes and units in the street and a Tram stop at the end of the road (Glenferrie Road end). The street is treelined and the footpaths are well kept. Also if you don't want to brave the supermarkets there is a Milkbar and Bottleshop on the corner of Liddiard and William Sts.

Great for

  • Ease of access to Glenferrie Road
  • Close by public transport
  • There is some street parking available (and and access to two large carparks)

Not great for

  • Pretty busy, can be hard to turn out of onto Glenferrie Rd

"Wonderful family environment, ideal for active singles and property investing!"

As an Investment:
As a property buyers agent at Capital Property Advisory specialising in property investing for large portfolio holders, we have seen immense growth and recommend certain style properties in carefully selected streets to astute investors. Hawthorn is a well known affluent suburb which always outperforms the averages.

As an Owner Occupier:
Hawthorn is a stunning leafy suburb and is full of character and action. Hawthorn located 6km east from Melbourne's central business district and is home to some of Melbourne’s most prestigious residential addresses.

Hawthorn is always bustling with many residents enjoying the high standard cafe and restaurant lifestyle. The highly used shopping strips are Glenferrie and Riversdale Roads which offer many specialty stores and Liddiard Street is walking distance to the action and all transport facilities.

Hawthorn is also home to a number of private schools such as Erasmus School of Primary Education, St. Josephs Primary School and Scotch College, the latter being one of the oldest and most prestigious schools in the country.

The area gives good geographical access to private schools in Camberwell, Malvern, Hawthorn East, including Alia College and Bialik College, as well as those in Kew, such as Xavier College, Carey Baptist Grammar School, Methodist Ladies' College, Ruyton Girls' School, Genazzano FCJ College and Trinity Grammar School. Just west of Hawthorn (in Richmond) is the Melbourne Girls' College.

I would rate Hawthorn in the top 10 places to live in Melbourne of all people looking for an affluent exciting lifestyle.
