Best school in Stonnington zone?

We are moving to Prahran/Windsor/Malvern area with a 2 year old. I'd like to send her to public school then private. But I'm not sure where to look! I've heard many conflicting opinions. I'm now wondering if we send her to private the whole way through (expensive but it might help with stability). Keen to know what other parents in the area think!
