Any thoughts on Clarinda?

I'd appreciate any opinion, good or bad, on Clarinda as we're considering buying into this suburb to live. We are a family of 4 including 2 small children. The reason for (tentatively) considering Clarinda is because it is more affordable than the surrounding Oakleigh and Clayton, while being comparatively similar distance to the city.
