What's traffic like to & Brisbane to North Lakes?

My husband and I are considering buying a house & land package in North lakes, however we both work in Brisbane. I don't drive but I believe there's good public transport, my husband drives and says that traffic is horrific and could take over an to get home? Is this really true and this bad and if so do the pros outweigh the cons of living in North Lakes. Any help would be great.

I wouldn't recommend communting to Bris CBD by driving from North Lakes if you work 9-5 type job. traffic is bad. however people up here use train lines a lot to commute to city. there is also express line at Dakabin train station. It would takes aboud 40 mins or so, but do your research.

the thing I love about NL is it has everything that you need for living. shopping, beaches, hospitals, trains, buses, schools and jobs.
