When is the best time to visit Port Douglas?
When do people think is the best time visit Port Douglas. I hear it gets almost unbearably hot in summer? Is this true?
Also when is stinger season?

Info on stinger season is here - http://www.webwombat.com.au/travel/articles/portdoug_stingers.htm - it may be best to go in spring before they arrive - September and October.
Best time to visit is after the big wet normally July through to November, however looking at the date you have been and gone. How was it?

It's a pretty good time to visit right now - weather is great, and Port Douglas Carnivale kicks off next week, so many activities to choose from, many FOC.

Thanks for the tips. I've pretty much become an expert on Port Douglas as the family has bought a house up there. I actually prefer all year round for very different reasons. I love the weather right now as the weather is pretty spot on and no too hot. BUT come jan time, yeah it can be very very hot, but i don't mind it, kinda like a walking sauna. The only issues I have are the bugs up north, they certainly took some time to get used to.
