How safe is Victoria Street Richmond?
My daughter is about to move into Richmond from Hawthorn (moved out of home) she has rented an apartment down church st end just off Victoria st. I am a little worried as she comes home late some nights (she works late), an I'm concerned about her living on her own as we drove through there the other night to check out the area, and it looked a bit scary.... I hope I am just being an over protective mother but I would never forgive myself if I have let her move into this area and something horrible happened or she had 12months lease and she felt unsafe.

Victoria St isn't that safe - I wouldn't feel safe walking home there late at night as a female, having said that I've never actually witnessed or heard of any dangerous crime happening on Victoria St. There's a just a few shady characters milling about. I'm sure if she keeps her wits about her she should be okay. There's just some key pockets I wouldn't go by like the corner of Lennox and Victoria, that's it really.
