With a lot of waterways in the Robina area, how bad do the midgies and or mozzies get?

The Gold Coast as a whole, is one big bug fest. The mosquitos are the size of bees! And they gun for you even when you shoo them away. The only reprieve I've found, is going down to the beach.

Robina is pretty bad for midgies. The suburb was built on swampland. Closer to the coastline or further west is better. The middle is stagnant mozzie central.
