Rooty Hill Question - How safe is it for a young family, or on the trains?

Hi,

We're looking to put money down for a new build on Harrington Street new Rooty Hill Station. On a saturday afternoon it all looked nice and quiet, nice park and a short walk to the station. We're wondering how good the area is, is it safe, and are the trains safe. Any info resident and from commuters to the city would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It's a quite suburb and safe at night,There was an incident where a man was robbed at knife point a few years ago at 2am at the station but the young thugs where caught & jailed(But incidents like that happen everywhere),Safer to get off at rooty hill than getting of at doonside or mount druitt around 10pm onwards

Been here for 28 years and still feel comfortable walking around the area any time of day. It's a multicultural community with a lot of established owner occupied homes. A few new builds and new shops going up & a planned upgrade to the station. West is best!

Hi Tim , Have you relocated to Rooty Hills ? How do you review the safety as a recent mover to the suburb.
I am planning to buy a home in Dunkley St. I find myself relieved to see all the positive comments coming first hand from the locals of Suburb about safety & crime(rather lack of it),
Any further comments on latest situation would be reassuring

Im almost a year in and ive had no issues and I have young children. Sure theres more bogans but I don't find that there is necessarily more risk of harm then anywhere really. I find that it's better then mt.druitt and doonside which are either side, even blacktown which have higher crime rates. I run early every morning before sunrise and the only people about are tradies off to work. I walk to local shops and restaurants in the evening even my kids do and there has been zero issues.

Go back for a drive around late at night, you'll see people walking around even in winter at 11pm and pushing prams. I would guess they aren't taking baby for a walk. :)
