There are wallabies usually in areas where cattle graze. Along Canaipa point road I have seen them. I live toward the southern end and have seen them on the vacant land near my home many times, early in the mornings usually.

What island is this thread about please? This website is set up very weirdly--i.e., it's not clear what island this thread is about. A 'clue' in the URL suggests that maybe it's about Russell Island, but then the comment from 'chrism29' suggests maybe it is 'Straddie' (North, or South?). No date on the comments either, so this thread could be 20 years old, or it could have been started yesterday. Sigh.

Yes there are wallabies on the southern end of the island, i have even seen then swim from Straddie to Sandy Beach. we also have bandicoots and other marcuipals on the island
