Is Russell Island a safe place to live?

Friendly people, you will know more people on the island by their first name than on the mainland. People wave as they drive by or pick you up if you have a load of shopping etc
Bad apples: Just stay away from the bad apples. You know they are just more visible on the islands, I am sure there are just as many, percentage wise, if not more, lurking in homes on the mainland
Give the islands a go, just come over and try it, even just for a holiday

I have been living here for a while now and its a great place to live, not many people here so much less crime than the mainland and people are much more friendly as well
