Where should a young twenty-somethings live?

My roommate and I are moving from the US to Surfers Paradise and won't have cars. We want to live close to everything (restaurants, transportation, etc.). We will be living there for 9 months and want to make the most of our time there. Any suggestions?

I guess it depends on your lifestyle.. If you'd prefer to be close for the night life, the Central Surfers Paradise is great! However for something a little more relaxed, you may consider looking on Chevron Island, as you are still within walking distance to the centre of Surfers Paradise, and all that it has to offer.
