Doreen

"Doreen much better than I expected"

I have recently moved to Doreen from Greensborough and I really like it here. Doreen has been changed so much in the last couple of years, there are more homes, more shops , more schools and is now more vibrant than it used to be. Doreen has a very leafy, greeny atmosphere like Greensborough and Eltham has, new and low maintenance. Doreen is only 15 mins to Greensborough and Eltham. 26 km from Melbourne CBD and in time to come Doreen will appears closer to the CBD when the roads Yan Yean Rd is fixed and the Mernda train station is here. I am looking forward to all the things happening in Doreen in the next few years.

Great for

  • Spacious
  • Great choice of facilities
  • The existing and planned infrastructure is terrific and eliminates the need to go too far
  • Urban development with a distinct country feel
  • Good access to parks

Yes me too! I wonder what it's going to be like when they finish the North East link. An express train service to CBD would also be nice too for those that work in the city.

Greensborough

"Greensborough is a great place to live"

We live in Greensborough and love it here. It is a very nice and leafy suburb. We find Greensborough very convienant- serviced by a train station and buses to various suburbs. The shopping centre has the major shops that we need (Coles, Aldi, Target, Kmart) and Woolworths is just outside. A choice of different cafes, restaurants, a cinema and WaterMarc. Not far from the entrance of the Ring Road freeway. Greensborough is becoming more vibrant, Greensborough Walk is currently under construction and many new units and townhouses recently built or under construction walking distance to the shopping centre/ train station. Greensborough is a nice place to live, safe and convenient especially to raise a family or even for young couples.

Great for

  • Good public transport (train and buses)
  • Leafy and green
  • 30mins from city
  • Close shops
  • Nice neighbours
  • Good resale values
  • WaterMarc

Not great for

  • More train station parking
