"Country Town Feel"
Purchased a house here 7 years ago after living in 'better' class eastern suburbs, and have never looked back.
Sure, Werribee has some issues, but the same issues exist in many parts of Melbourne and in suburbs where house prices are treble of those in WerrIbee.
There are some fantastic pockets of Werribee that are still super affordable. Spend a few hours around Watton street and meet the true locals.....ask questions, nobody is in a hurry around here! Kids have a ball exploring the local river.
I personally prefer the areas closer to the old part of town.
If in the market to purchase, look south of Synott st, Greaves St north or west of the racecourse. Avoid areas closer to the Plaza.
Dont be put off by comments of people who dont live in this undiscovered oasis....

- Plenty to do for families, and it's relatively cheap
- Short trip between two cities - Melbourne & Geelong
- Nice people and community
Not great for
- Not enough nightlife
- Public transport can be unreliable at times

I love having a walk down Watton Street. All the small businesses there and their owners really make the place great. Seems the nightlife is getting better too which is good
