Pacific Pines

"GREAT FOR FAMILIES WITH YOUNG KIDS"

Rented in Pac pines for many years. Was a good place to live. Some areas are a little bare as its so developed, but has the most amazing parks for young kids and a few of them with bbqs. Close to shops and a westfeild and trainstation, although not within walking distance for most of pac pines as its rather large and there are alot of hills. Over all a pleasent place to live.

Ipswich

"Not as bad as it reputation!"

Living here for 6 months now. I was very nervous about moving here because of things i had heard about Ipswich. I havent had any problems here. I will say overall it could be kept a little cleaner such as the free paper outside peoples houses, seems to be alot of places where people just dont clean out the front of their house. The other thing Ipswich does lack is water nearby. There really isnt good places to go fishing or boating. One of the biggest things i have noticed also is that i cant drive anywhere without seeing at least one police car, which means the police are everywhere, not to mention they now have cameras all over the city. Overall a good place to live, there are good parks nearby.

WTF

It is just a matter of time before you see the real Ipswich. I was born and raised in Ipswich. Why do you think there are so many cameras?

Nice people don't scared/hate cameras. By the way, you have a "nice" name on your profile?

LOL, The crime rate is so low in Ipswich and that may be due to the police presence and camera's (which I think is a good thing) or really maybe it's just the "crime" is next to non existent. We own our home in Ipswich but moved to Cairns because of a work transfer, oh my goodness do I miss home! There are camera's and police everywhere here too but that dose not stop the crime. We never, ever had problems in Ipswich and a year in Cairns we have had an $800.00 bike stolen along with my wallet and toys not to mention being attacked verbally on a few occasions while minding our own business (maybe it's that "tropical fever")! And if papers was the only mess we had to deal with up here in Cairns, that would be nice. I would walk down the street in Ipswich any night over Cairns.

Low crime in Ipswich? That's a new one. Have you checked the QPS stats or are you just speculating.

Hi peterbgg, what suburb do u live. I thought about moving to ipswich because of affordability but these reviews are pretty bad.

peterbgg lol speculating, no. No need for the link thank you as that is where I went for the statistics originally. Currently (12/2020), for the same period in the "local government areas" the findings are as follows (all offences included) Brisbane 20,358 Gold Coast 10,429 Logan 6,662 Ipswich 4281 and the Sunshine Coast 3677, just to name a few so I don't think Ipswich is fairing too badly (Ref: https://qps-ocm.s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/index.html.) As you can see, there is not a huge difference between the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich and yet, the Sunshine Coast is classed as a retirement "safe haven" and all round lovely place to live, far from it in my experience though. On a positive note for Ipswich, the house prices are considerably less and in my personal experience I'm happy with the "LOW" (again, personal opinion and experience) crime rate. Maybe the word "low" was not to your liking, however the stats don't lie and it is lower then some and comparable to others. I know some lovely people who bought in very exclusive areas in inner Brisbane years ago, their houses literally now into the millions and yet I hear the stories of drug dealers who buy in their streets, shootouts and the high crime rate, scum are everywhere and it's amazing how money can't even remove dead beats! Maybe your could suggest an area that comes without problems? That's would be "a new one."
