Teneriffe Dr

"Lovely street with great views"

The street is quiet and very leafy. The houses are beautiful. It's a very friendly street - the neighbours look out for one another.

The street is close to the city and also very close to New Farm.

Manion Avenue

"Lovely location"

The great thing about Manion Avenue is that there is a golf course on one side of the street and a rugby field on the other side. So it's very leafy and green and quiet. During rugby season the street gets busy and it's hard to find a park but that's bearable.
You can also walk to Bondi - it's about 20 minutes.
There is a great shopping village across the Golf course (it's OK to cross it at night) with a fabulous chicken shop on O'Sullivan Road. There's also a great cafe.
It's also lovely to walk along the bay.
The public transport is OK. You have to catch a bus and a train into the city (or a ferry).
All the housing on Manion Avenue is in apartments.

Yaringa Avenue

"Close to the beach"

Yariga Avenue is only one block from the beach which is lovely. The patrolled beach is a 10 minute walk away. The location is great though because it's walking distance to the lighthouse and Point Cartwright.

Warmington Street

"Close to Woolies but close to Woolies"

Warmington street is an interesting street because it's got a Woolies and a shopping village at one end of the street and it's suburbia at the other end. Having the Woolies so close is great because you can walk to it, but it also generates a lot of traffic and on-street parking. However the restaurants and cafes near Woolies are great, especially Sassafras and Spoon. There are a couple of good dress shops and a great hairdresser, Nut, in Kennedy Terrace.

Living at the suburban end of the street is pleasant because it's quiet and leafy.

There are plenty of bus routes at either end of the street - so public transport is really good.

If you're going to live in Warmington street and you are keen to walk, then consider how far up the hill you choose to live - cause lugging groceries up the hill can be demanding!

Brown Parade

"Lovely suburb close to the city"

Brown Parade is a quiet street in a lovely leafy suburb. I lived in this street for 20 years. It's close to a great park and one of the best Christmas lights displays on the north side of Brisbane. The shops in Ashgrove are great - lots of Supermarkets to choose from and many little boutiques for clothes or gifts. There's also a choice of gyms nearby. The primary schools are excellent and Marist ashgrove is great as a middle and high school for boys. Mt St Michael's is a great high school for girls and Stuartholme College is in nearby Bardon. I love this street and would live here again.

Chapel Hill

"A quiet leafy suburb"

I loved living in Chapel Hill. The streets are quiet and leafy. I loved listening to the birds in the morning. The only drawback to the subub is the commute to the city. Although in off-peak you are only 15 minutes from the city, in peak hour it can take up to 45 minutes. There are lots of eateries and supermarkets in neighbouring suburbs like Kenmore and Taringa. Indooroopilly Shoppingtown is about 5 minutes away and it's great to be so close to so many shops and a Department Store. Schools in the area are good and you are close to the Uni of Qld though it can be hard to get there on public transport. Overall, for the peace and tranquility of the suburb, I would recommend it - however think twice if you need to comute to the city.

Lewin Street

"Lovely street in a lovely suburb"

Lewin Street has some great views of the mountains. It is a quiet street though really close to the city (10 mins outside peak, 20 mins in the peak). There are lots of lovely parks nearby with great play facilities. There are several yoga schools within 2-3 minutes. Several great eateries are located at Bardon Central on McGregor Terrace. There are 3 fantastic primary schools in the area. I love living in Bardon and have several friends who have bought in this street - and they love it too. Ashgrove West provides a great bakery and two other eateries - so we're really in the middle of lots of choice.

Brisbane Street

"Peaceful, green and close to the city"

I loved living in St Lucia. I could choose any of 3 modes of public transport to the city and it would take less than 15 minutes. It is a peaceful suburb and I could also walk to Uni. The restaurants and cafes are great - I loved eating out, especially brunch on Sundays. The Ville is a great little village near the Uni with a great atmosphere and a Coles supermarket. I would live in St Lucia again anytime. I loved living so close to the River. For anyone with connections to the University this is the ideal suburb.
