Mount Druitt

"12yrs in Mt Druitt"

I've lived her for 12yrs and I love this place. It's cheap and affordable. Only 45mins away from city, airport and beaches. Great public transport. Over the 12yrs I've been here I have never once experienced any negative outcomes. Of course you hear the odd arguments, people yelling profanities and witness some fights amongst people but you can see and hear that anywhere. My kids go to a great local primary school, Dawson Public School. But I will be spending the money to make sure they get the best high school education that we can afford. There are great high schools here and we will be sending our kids to the one that we think will better them for the future. We have worked hard to have what we have, to provide everything for our kids. It not the place that makes you but what you make of yourself. I've wondered the streets plenty at night and have never been robbed, assaulted or raped. Having said all this I grew up in the Bronx in NZ and know how to handle myself and how to stay safe. Fight for your rights, fight to keep you and your family safe, fight when it is deemed necessary. At least if you lose you put up a fight and no one could say you're a pussy for laying down and taking it.
Mt Druitt a great place to be. You can earn good money, buy a lovely house, shop for things that cost twice as much in the city, get to the lovely places of Sydney in good time, there are so many pro's about being in mounty that I just can't write it all. I've noticed we as a suburb have been on the news a lot over the last few months but don't be dishearten about what your read or see as you can get that anywhere in any suburb, rich or poor.
