"Is there a right and wrong side of Waterworks Road?"

We are thinking of buying in Ashgrove but some locals tell me there is a "right" and a "wrong" side of Waterworks Rd, i.e. the 'Avenues' is the "right" side and you will have to pay more for a home here than the streets on the other side. Is this true? Could some ashgrove locals enligten me?

The right side would be the Brisbane city - ocean side because of the nice breeze and view to the city. The wrong side would be the hinterland facing side, as it can be extremely hot and there is very little view to the city.

All up it might be a busy road but all amenities are very tempting. The property prices most definitely will climb after Brisbane flooding. Surprisingly quiet are the backyards as they mostly below the street level.

Yes, the Avenues is the most desirable and expensive pocket - North of Waterworks Rd, West of Stewart Rd and bounded north and west by Enoggera Creek. Surrounding areas are still nice.
