Tarneit

"A Safe Place To Live"

I have lived with my family in Tarneit for around 12 years and have seen the area change from a small country town to the place it is today. Now it is getting busy and the traffic has increased a lot since we first moved here. I have never once seen an African gang so I can't relate to the people who claim there is a problem here. Tarneit is a multicultural place where everyone gets on well with each other. Lots of Indian families have moved to the area, they are friendly and respectful and I regularly see the guys getting together for a game of cricket. There are great sporting facilities here including the swimming centre and the Rex centre for basketball.

Now Tarneit station is up and running we can get to the city in around 27 minutes and we are just over an hour away from the Great Ocean Road. I am not writing this review to somehow increase the price of my property, this is all based on my genuine experience of living in the area for 12 years.

The downsides would be the traffic and the lack of decent schools in the area. If you are a family considering moving here you will need to pick your school carefully. State primary schools are not too good and a couple of the Catholic primary schools are not good either. My advice would be to look at Bethany or St. James.

When we first came to Melbourne we were over in Malvern on the east side. People told us to avoid the west. They were wrong. We much prefer living here than we did in Malvern.

Good luck, if you are in any doubt, come out here and take a look around, visit the Plaza and get a feel for the people here.
