Ferny Hills was my home for a good 10 years and I enjoyed my time there but have now moved to North Lakes (further north and towards the sea a bit) but what I can tell you about Ferny Hills is that is a fantastic place for nature lovers and people who enjoy peace and quiet. I found it to be a safe, friendly suburb with only a few incidents I heard of over the years. It does get hot so make sure you get a place with an air conditioner! Even if you only run it during Oct - March. If you enjoy eating out you may have to go outside of the suburb as the choice or quality wasn't amazing, but the places you will find surviving there are very good. All 3 of my children had no issues with the schools. Ferny Grove public transport is also very good for getting to places.

I just moved to Sunjoy Pl North Lakes from Kootangal Cr Ferny Hills after 10 years and I cannot stress enough how sooner I wish I had moved here. There are parks and greenery everywhere and it's all maintained daily. It has everything I could ever possibly need with the Westfield just in town and plethora of other big names. I was worried after leaving my job that there would be less work to choose from here but with all of the local businesses there are lots of jobs available. If you don't wish to work in the city, this is the place to be. Should you require a city job, roads are good straight down to the heart of Brisbane and public transport is very organized and simply a breeze to get through. Have also heard from local Mums that the local schools are by far some of the best around and can confirm as my 7 and 9 year old boys, 14 year old daughter are all smiles. Good school system with friendly staff and zero tolerance for bad behaviour. Absolute dream.
