Tarneit

"We love living in Tarneit"

We’ve been here for just over 12 months.
Suburb is safe but busy. Love the city feeling about it, many shops and good quality restaurants and entertainment nearby. Pacific Werribee is a great place for shopping and old Geelong Road has all the shops you could ever ask for. Half an hour to the city or just 26 minutes with the train. Issue is the train is too full but I believe there is a second train station underway. So many recreational places for the kiddos including parks, rivers and child care centres to chose from too. It’s safe and people are mainly families, we’ve never seen any gangs or crime incidents. Of course in any fast growing city especially with so many young families moving in each week and with so many teenagers, there will be some issues but nothing serious.
We love the city feel and milticulturism, it’s really the new/old Australia where all nationalities come together to live peacefully. The data from Sensis is outdated, Tarneit is definitely full of young families moving from either south eastern suburbs or country areas as the house prices are much more affordable. Only downside we have found is the traffic, other than that it’s definitely a good Melbourne suburb where you can create a good family lifestyle. Forgot to mention there are many good schools nearby to choose from.
