Sunshine

"Central Sunshine and the Main street being Hampshire road."

The last two years have seen massive improvements to the main street of Sunshine. You no longer see the drunks and addicts littering the streets. It is a growing, bustling, and thriving city. Huge buildings and apartments are coming up every where, beautiful townhouses, and great restaurants and shops. The people on the main street are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking, no violence or crime, even drug dealing is now very rare. Fantastic live seafood shops, and great range of fresh meat, seafood , fruit, vegetable and clothing stores at very good value prices. The hair and beauty shops are great, and the library is magnificent. Aldies close by. People smiling everywhere. You can really see why the government has put the rail link station here, within another 5 years the city will be taking the shape of Melbourne's second main city after the Melbourne CBD. You can see very soon that house prices are going to explode. The railway stations of Sunshine and Albion are world class and very safe, and the major bus terminal is brilliant. Good ice-cream shops as well. Sunshine is just only going up.

I was on Hampshire Road between 2:30 and 4:00pm today and in that time on the corner of Hampshire and Devonshire road a group of anti social junkies were seated and then on tall disgusting junkie attacked a little disgusting looking old junkie and both were yelling and running around like the usual imbeciles you see their in front of all the shoppers. Then two disgusting junkies went into the Sunshine library with a can of alcohol in one's hand to score some drugs off three asian looking junkie dudes in the library all while three Victoria police were on the other side of the street looking the other way. Then there were the other junkies wondering around going about their junkie activities, so nice and pleasant.

Went out to the main street in Sunshine to eat tonight between 6:30 and 7pm and walked down the main street and it was entirely different than this afternoon. It was like an entirely different shopping strip, it was safe and relaxed a variety of people out in groups and with their kids going to the restaurants along Hampshire road leading to the Sunshine station, it felt like a $million dollar suburb and the main street resembled the peaceful leafy feel of the back streets of central Sunshine with the good neighbours. Maybe the council should remove all the seats at the corner of Hampshire rd and Devonshire rd on all corners it could possibly styop the junkie anti social groups from meeting their and intimidating and scaring the shoppers.

Around 11 am on the corner of Hampshire road and Devonshire road the corner which has the public phone box on it along the main street there were around 5-6 disgusting looking junkies yelling, drinking alcohol and spitting really loud so as those who had good reason to be there could hear and see their disgusting behaviour. A fight was about to break out amongst the filthy looking mob. Its the council having the public seats there thats causing them to hang around there as well as the phone box for them to dial their drug dealer as well. Maybe the council remove the seats and put them in the park over the other side of the railway line where the footbridge and elevator crosses over to it at the end of Devonshire road and place the seats and the phone box in the park far away from the walk way so people dont have to see the junkies villians. They will have privacey in the park to spit, drink alcohol, use drugs, fight each other, yell and whatever anti social behaviour they do out of the way of people using the park tracks and bridge and those shopping and dining in Sunshines main street, so during the day we no longer for once have to see the sight of them. Oh and I didnt see the woman who wears the same clothes and has her face painted and spits as people walk past today as well.

So basically the place is bad during the daytime? But mornings and evenings junkies have scurried back to their crackdens and the normal people are out?

To @davidb77 Is Homely.com.au a site for people to air their grievances about a suburb? If you want something done about these issues please raise them with the local Council and the local police station. Ive been here for more than a decade and only occasionally see such problems as youve been raising. (Public drinking is an issue however and removal of seats can stop it in its tracks. Contact Brimbank Council about this.)
