Werribee

"The future is bright"

We moved to Werribee late 2018 after being priced out of the inner west housing market. We were initially attracted by its affordability as you can comfortably purchase a 3 or 4 bedroom house without stretching the average family budget.

Since moving in, we have been very happy with the council's efforts to activate the main street with family friendly activities throughout summer including a pop up park with free outdoor cinema, local and well known musicians and Australia Day celebrations.

Autumn has brought along some green living seminars promoting solar, vegetable gardening and caring for Werribee's natural resource- the Werribee river.

You definitely get a sense that there is a lot of investment in the area including a 13 million dollar riverside park development with a playground and amphitheatre, plans for river facing cafes and encouraging locals to visit places like K-Rd Cliffs. Hopefully one day they'll be able to re-open the old cinema (fingers crossed).

With bike paths along the river, several trendy cafes, and a handy mid-way point between Melbourne and Geelong, Werribee is transforming into a more contemporary family friendly suburb.
