Kallangur

"Affordable, but get the right spot"

I grew up in Kallangur, and had a wonderful childhood. My husband and I are thinking of buying in the area because it is so affordable. However, there are certain areas to avoid, particularly the closer you get to the main strip on Anzac Avenue. There can be some pretty "wild" people living around there (some, but definitely not all!). It is close to everything - Redcliffe beaches, 40 mins to the Sunshine Coast, 45 mins to the city, shopping at North Lakes etc. The only problem is the lack of a good high school (unless you live closer to North Lakes) and the amount of townhouses going up in the area. Why they would want to put high density living in an area with no train station is beyond me. But overall, I enjoyed growing up in this suburb, and hope to buy my first home there fairly soon.

Over the last five years I have enjoyed living and working in Kallangur. I own two local businesses and also sell and manage a lot of property within the area. My two sons go to child care within the suburb and I have found ABC in Kallangur great to deal with. My sons will be going to North Lakes when they are older enough as the education system is a little more advanced and offer more than the local Kallangur public schools.
