Auburn

"one of the most convenient suburbs in Sydney!"

I have been living in Auburn for the past 19 years and I have to say it is by far the most convenient suburb I have ever lived in! There are so many small shops and restaurants and other businesses on the main shopping area on Auburn Rd just outside the train station, we have a Woolies, an Aldi, many different banks and medical clinics & pharmacies and a large community library and a post office. And then we have so many big chain stores like Harvey Norman, Bunnings, Officeworks, Costco etc and fast food chains on Parramatta road, the Botanical gardens is beautiful, we also have a huge park just outside Auburn Girls high school, we also have a relatively big hospital here, a police station, we even have a large cinema here on Parramatta Rd, Auburn has virtually everything! I noticed that the main complaints that people have about this suburb is the difficulty in finding parking spaces & it's not safe and the streets are dirty. Well since I don't drive, finding parking space was never a problem for me. And in the 19 years that I have lived in Auburn, I have NEVER had any problems, I have always felt safe living here, I feel like all the horrible things being said about the safety of Auburn has been greatly exaggerated by people who have never lived here or have only lived here for a short time, there are other even more dangerous suburbs to live in than Auburn. And while yes it's true that residents often leave their bins & rubbish lying outside their homes, but that's mostly only during rubbish pickup days which is on Tuesdays, it's really not a big deal, but generally this suburb is clean most of the time, I have lived in much worse and much dirtier suburbs in the past. Overall Auburn has been a great suburb for me to live in, it's one of the most convenient suburbs in Sydney, there are so many shops & all kinds of businesses here including many medical businesses, housing prices are reasonably cheap here, a lot of east Asian and middle Eastern people living here, and has a great public transport system. Honestly I don't want to leave Auburn anytime soon, and no I don't have any mental problems like another reviewer had claimed residents of Auburn who don't want to leave would have. The main reasons I don't want to leave Auburn is because of the sheer convenience of this suburb, like I said Auburn has just about everything, also because my family lives here too so they are always close by & rent is cheaper here.
