Bayswater

"suburb close to CBD"

Bayswater is a suburb of Perth, northeast of the CBD and is serviced by rail making an easy commute to those working in the capital. One of the major attractions of Bayswater is that it has the only Wave Pool in WA. The aquatic centre where is it housed also has training pools etc plus a fully equipped gym, fitness classes, child minding and coffee shop. Other sporting facilities in this area include a golf course, tennis courts, skate park, two indoor recreations centres as well as playing fields for numerous sports. Being so close the CBD there is plenty of shopping with large modern shopping centres and local stores, hotel etc. As far as education goes there are plenty of schools, pre primary, primary and secondary both state and private as well as further education institutions. Entertainment and night is not far away in Perth and there are numerous restaurants and fast food outlets in close proximity. The price of property in Bayswater is quite reasonable for both purchase and rentals considering how close you are to Perth.

Bayswater is East of Perth, sorry.
Other than that, it is also close to Morley Galleria and close to major roads, the Airport as well as excellent rail service.

Kumarina

"Good place to stop but you wouldn't want to live here."

Kumarina is a two hour drive to the north east of Meekatharra or is you are coming from Perth be prepared for a two day drive along the great Northern Highway. The town is really only a stopover point and had limited facilities. The nearest medical centre and hospital are in Meekatharra and should you be determined to live out here the main educational facilities are either Meekatharra or distance education via correspondence or School of the Air. The town consists of a roadhouse which has a restaurant, motel and hotel incorporated as well as a caravan park. This road house is well stocked and has takeaway meals as well as restaurant service. There is no real estate for sale here and the best you could do should the urge take you would be to enquire about buying land and build your own house. Good comfortable place for a stopover but definitely not a relocation option. Also be warned that mobile phone services in this area are unreliable and if you are traveling be sure to carry extra water.

Spoken like a true real estate agent. I notice you have comments for Geraldton and Greenough also, however you forget to mention Geraldton’s HUGE crime problem, especially in the West Bank. Spalding was rated as the highest crime suburb in the state! in 2008. I thought these comments were meant to be a guide for people not a vehicle for agents to generate business. Who do you work for?

Notimportant
Notimportant

Yes, it's tiring isn't it. Comments such as "We liked it so much we will be buying property there. A place to watch and definately invest in. Not a dying town this one is alive and growing", and recommended for 'professionals'. This was written about Meekatharra. A more dire place you could not wish to happn upon.

Go away please.

Shin

I agree these comments are from Real Estate Agents. I was only in Dongara for 12 months I would never return. Their are drug and alcohol problems especially with the young. No public transport. My friend badly cut her hand there was no one at the health centre to stitch the wound, she had to Geraldton. Eating out , shopping is very overpriced. People who have brought here cannot sell their homes unless at a loss. My list of negatives outweighs the positives. I suggest people rent before deciding.

Def. a potential goldmine area for investors. Funny how some folk who don't know the place still see it as a backwater. Wish there was a way we could hang on to our place here (we're emigrating) because in a year or so it will be worth thousands more.

LisaB

Ellenbrook is the place to be. It is cleaner and more friendly than nearly every other suburb in perth, it has more schools and parks compared to other suburbs of similar size. It has heaps to do for kids and teenagers - there are dozens of skate parks, BMX tracks, lakes, parks, 2 gyms, a large indoor swimming pool, a theatre, a large shopping centre, a pool and snooker centre, games arcades, walking trails, sporting clubs and rec centres, the list goes on. It is a mini city in its own right so the fact that it is not "close" to the CBD is irrellevant because all you ever need is right on your doorstep. There are numerous medical centres, vets, beauticians, mechanics, shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, childare centres, etc. and the best part is you are right on the door step of the Swan Valley so you are surrounded by beautiful scenery and plenty more restaurants and animal parks etc. You also have Whiteman Park down the road which is beautiful for family picnics and wildlife. Some people seem to think that it is 'ages away' from everything when in actual fact you are only approx 15 minutes from 3 major shopping centres (Midland,Joondalup & Morley) plus you have access to every major highway. There is a bus station with transperth buses going to Morley and Midland and a trainline to be built in the future. It has the best value for money in perth with some of the nicest new houses cheaper than some of the ugly dogboxes seen in many other parts of perth. It has the highest growth rate than any other suburb in WA and for good reason. You cant go wrong here, there is something for everyone. I have heard alot of people say "oh but its so far away' yet they have never actually made the drive to find out, it is no further than say Armdale or Joondalup (its actually closer to the city and airport than either of these), and I actually like the fact that it is not cramped inbetween other suburbs, it has a great country community feel.

"Beautiful beach side suburb"

Just 20 mins from Perth CBD is Scarborouogh and this is one of the best beaches on the West Coast. Living here is like being on holiday every day. From here you can walk to many of the other city beaches including the topless beach and a pet friendly beach. The area offers great activities especially water s[ports such as swimming, surfing fishing, windsurfing etc or you can cycle, fish or just enjoy the sights. There are many sporting associations to join with most sports being catered for. There are numerous restaurants and cafes as well as takeaway and fast food outlets. You can shop till you drop with an amazing array of specialty and boutique stores and with easy reach of the larger shopping centres of Perth. There is plenty of nightlife here with clubs, bars and live entertainment venues. There are primary and secondary schools here with TAFE and University campuses not far away Public transport is good with buses running to the city at frequent regular intervals. Medical centres and good fully equipped hospitals are within a short distance as are specialists and allied health professionals. Unfortunately, living in a great place like this will cost you as property prices are rather high and although there is plenty of rental accommodation those prices are on the steep side as well.
