"Not what I expected."
My hubby was posted to amberley with the army 3 years ago and i had heard horrible things about ipswich. so when we moved i was quite surprised. i feel safe here. there are some odd looking people around but they seem to be harmless. you do get a few loud bogans in ipswich square, but thats about it. the only thing i dont really like about this place is the lack of variety in the retail sectors. this place needs more shopping, night life. restaurants. affordable housing too which is great.

Hi, if he is being posted to Amberley he should have the option of living on base? And would require approval to live off base. We lived in defence housing initially in Raceview and then in flinders view, flindersview was a lot nicer and Yamanto was also good.
Which area did you move to. My son is being posted to Amberley and needs to find accommodation within 30 min drive if possible. Trying to find an apartment or townhouse if possible but don't know the areas well enough to know which areas are the better areas to live in. any help would be greatly appreciated.
