Castle Hill

"No infrastructure, terrible traffic, over crowded, over priced"

Thank God we sold our house, move in to nearby suburb which has better infrastructures, great transport. Castle hill house price is growing slow now. Over crowded and over priced for no reasons.

Over the past few years, Castle Hill has become a much better suburb than how it was previously. With the new Sydney Metro that is to be connected to the City by 2024 and the to Bankstown and the new Western Sydney Airport, Castle Hill is now a very convenient location, and has 2 stations at Castle Hill and Hills Showground. With express buses to the City, Parramatta, North Sydney and Hornsby, Castle Hill is ideal for people who work in any of the CBDs and is also convenient to Norwest Business Park and Macquarie University. Castle Towers Shopping Centre is set to become the largest shopping centre in New South Wales, making Castle Hill even more convenient for shopping. Castle Hill has a very diverse community, with people from many nationalities. Castle Hill also has some good schools, including Castle Hill Public, Castle Hill High, Oakhill College and Cherrybrook Technonolgy High for some parts. Castle Hill is quite a safe suburb, and is also very clean. Castle Hill also has lots of reserve/heritage parks and greenscpace, and is a good place for investment with all the new infrastructure. With the development of Castle Towers, the Metro and many other projects, Castle Hill could be the new business hub of North West Sydney.

How Castle Hill has changed since I lived there as a child at "Garthowen" in the early 1940's. It was a place for unwanted children but in fact was a house run by a kindly lady named Miss Mathews and her father. I loved it there until I was taken away and flown to Brisbane to live with strangers who were in fact part of my family who I had never known. I am now 83 but still remember vividly the kindness shown me when I was there as the youngest of the children of whom there were not many. Being taken from "Garthowen" was one of the saddest days of my life....John Pullinger, Beerwah Queensland
