Couldn't agree more further with you on all fronts. Positives peaceful, beautiful beaches, getting around town is a breeze. Moved from Sydney 2 years ago for a full time job at Tafe. Though due the restructure and massive changes Tafe is going under as you mentioned as well, changes in courses, less courses being offered , etc. As a Teacher I became unemployed 6 months ago. I have applied for numerous miscellaneous jobs (at least 50) though no success. I have had to get in a border to assist with rent. Many businesses especially in retail, hospitality and community services have casual limited hours offered per week and also employ young workers so they can pay a lot less. I am in my 40s and so keen to work and am in the prime of my working life to make decent $$. I may have to return to Sydney soon as it's becoming unbearable. I have met many people here since my arrival and everyone knows someone or has a relative in the same position as me. Unemployed!!! Looking for work. So yes, Skyeb4, and agree it's missing any culture especially in The Arts.
So if your looking at moving to live here , warning don't come looking for work. Get a job first. But if your looking for a beach side surfy town and can afford not to be employed than it is beautiful place to live. :(

Hi bellab3, thanks for your excellent review. Do you think public school teachers would also have difficulty finding work there?
