I've lived in Cairnlea for around 4-5 years, i would not change it for any other suburb in Melbourne.
Its missing the latte culture, but that will soon come... I work in the city and travel time is around 30-45mins during peak hour, the west gate can take longer sometimes but I often listen to the traffic reports in the morning and choose between Calder/West Gate/ or Ballarat road.

Great place to take the little ones to the park for a play or simply a walk, really relaxing place.
