Mount Druitt

"Old Mt Druitt Friendly place to live"

I've lived in Old Mt Druitt (the Highway side of Mt Druitt) for over 14 years and we love where we live. It's a short walk to the train station with express trains to the city for hubby's work, and easy access to the M4, Great western Highway and M7 for my work and the weekend.

There are plenty of different shop at the local Westfield and other shopping centres or 10mins to Blacktown or Penrith.

We live in a small street near a good primary school with very friendly neighbours. Of course not all are neighbours are the best but I can't control who lives near me and only how I interact with them. There are modern parks near by for the kids and some pub and clubs to meet up with friends.

My main concern is the lack of quality public high schools close by but i have a few years to ponder this further.

Great for

  • Lots of shops
  • Heaps of sporting clubs and groups for kids
  • Lots of public transport
  • Affordable
  • Not too much traffic

Not great for

  • Still tainted by bad reputation from years ago
  • Bogans

Who lives here?

  • Families with kids
  • Retirees
