Hoppers Crossing

"A Great Suburb"

Hoppers Crossing is a great suburb.

2019 Domain Liveability Study: It has been ranked 218th best Suburb for livability out of 307 Suburbs Reviewed in 2019 Domain Liveability Study, previously ranked at 272. They rank by a number of criteria. Where it fares poorly is topography, culture, tree cover, and cafes. Hoppers Crossing is a flat area. So, it ranks poorly for topography and is never likely to improve on that front. Wyndham City Council is planting trees every year from April to July to significantly increase tree cover. Morris and Heath, an award-winning cafe has a cult following. There are more cafes that have recently opened up in Hoppers Crossing outside of Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre. These will significantly improve the ranking in future liveability studies. The criteria it currently scores well for are Retail, Low Traffic, Low Crime, Education, Telecom, Open Space and Public Transport. If these are the only criterias selected it scores as one of the top 20 suburbs in Melbourne Metro.

Retail: The suburb has all the shops you will ever need. Hoppers Crossing Station Shops, Old Geelong Rd warehouses and shopping strip, Wyndham Village Shopping Centre, Pacific Werribee Shopping Centre (Werribee Plaza or The Plaza), and Hogans Corner Shopping Centre.

Public Transport: It has 2 train lines. Werribee and Tarneit. Tarneit line (Currently, Vline) will eventually be electrified and become part of Metro Railways. You can be in the city, door to door in under an hour by taking public transport. Leave your house, walk, Bus to the station, and train to the city, walk to your work in Melbourne CBD. This is handy for people who work in the city. The train ride is 35 mins during peak hour on the Werribee line and 25 mins on Tarneit train line. If you drive to the station, you can substantially reduce the commute time.

Education: It has quite a number of primary and secondary school options in the suburb.

Hoppers Crossing is one of the largest Melbourne Suburbs. Just like every suburb, it has variations within the suburb. These variations are more pronounced in Hoppers Crossing because of the area size. Hoppers Crossing is the only Wyndham Suburb that is fully developed. There's no more space to build new housing in the suburb. Whilst there has been significant price growth in the past few years, it still gives you the best value for your money for a house with substantial land size. If you can find a good house, in a good size block, that has a great aspect and layout and is better built, you are set. This suburb will only become better and enhance its livability further.
