Best child care in local community based preschool, but you have to book your kid in for years beforehand. Very difficult to get out of Kenthurst in the morning, with all the traffic and few buses, but then there lies the beauty of living there...it's quiet, safe and clean. We lived here for years before moving to nearby Castle Hill. In Kenthurst we often forgot to lock the front door, we never locked our car doors at night and everybody had time to stop and say hello on our walks. The kids grow up, though, and they will want to move somewhere more central with easy access to public transport. We also experienced bushfires and nearly lost our home. With both of us working full time, we also found the large property too high maintenance, taking up nearly all our weekends.

Moved to the Hills from Liverpool in 2000. Never looked back since, everything is here, not planning to move. Need nearly an hour to get to work, but hey any length of time for transport is worth living the lifestyle in this place. Would even want to be buried here in the local cemetery. Still unsure about plans for trainline, since trains will bring undesirables to the area and even more traffic! Our retirement plans could then change, and we'll move next door to Glenhaven or elsewhere less crowded but still in the Hills area. It's a place to raise a family and then grow old in.
