George Street

"Tree lined and full of character"

I recently visited this street. It is so charming. Full of beautiful overhanging trees. The residences are Victorians and most apartment buildings have an Art Deco influence. There is even a cafe in the mix. A true gem 💎

"Amazing Suburb - Get In While Its Affordable!"

As a prospective first home buyer having lived with my parents in Tarneit for almost 2.5 years (Habitat on Davis Creek) I really do believe Tarneit has it all.

For me the stand out points for a young professional and someone who would like to start a family in the near future. I have confidence in the lifestyle drivers, so much going on here:

- Countless parks and walking trails, if youre up for it you can take a drive to the You Yangs, Geelong, or the Great Ocean Road for a weekend adventure.

- Transport is outstanding. As Tarneit is part of the
VLine it takes me less than 30 mins on average to reach Southern Cross Station (sometimes the journey is 25 mins). If Im not mistaken, it would take you about the same time to commute if you were living in suburbs like Northcote, Brunswick or Preston.

- Multiculturalism is another highlight in Tarneit. So lovely to see people from all walks of the planet here. This draws into the community events and local businesses. The food (especially Indian, Middle Eastern, Thai and Vietnamese is top notch). No need to travel all the way into the inner city suburbs to get quality food and dining experiences.

- Safe communities with lively, active people. So many afternoons and evening families are out at the local park, on their bikes, or walking. Its so nice to see! People are friendly and I have never had any issues with crime here. So lovely to see kids playing together and parents having a chat.

- Werribee Plaza is very close and other shopping outlets. You never miss out. There is a growing community and new shopping facilities popping up as the community grows. The new Riverdale Village is a bustling hub and only opened about a year ago. Fit with a fruit and veg shop, Coles, Chemist, Gym to name a few.

- Demand for property is high here as future development of a large sports stadium, a second train station and improved roads and highway connections. The growth here is insane.

Now for a few cons to make it a balanced review:
- Some of the newer parts of Tarneit dont have very wide streets which can me an issue with on street parking.

- Some people use their Garages as additional rumpus/living rooms and open the Garage door which can be noisy. Most people are polite and close up around 8-9pm.

- Since there is a lot of development happening in Tarneit I have seen a lot of illegal dumping of rubbish and it is not nice to see. The council is cracking down on it. It is a slow process and only really notable in newer communities. In saying that we could all do our part and keep Tarneit going up and clean up after ourselves and do the right thing.

There are a lot of opportunities to build and buy around Tarneit. Each year I am noticing land sizes are getting smaller and housing is getting pricier so get in while you can. Hope this review helps.
