How long does it take in the mornings to drive on the Southern Expressway into the city?

Looking at relocating and wondering how long it takes to get into the city from different suburbs.

It depends greatly on what time you start work. From the northern end of the Southern Expressway to the western side of the city is about a 20-25 minute trip on weekends.

From there to Regency TAFE takes about 55 minutes with an aggressive driving style, or about an hour and ten minutes with a sedate driving style (or exceptionally heavy traffic).

The key problem here is the congestion and slow movement of South Road. If living in the area, the key to reasonable travel time is to learn the backstreets, and then learn the backstreets to the backstreets because everybody knows the main backstreets.
