Moving to Adelaide from London in a couple of weeks with my job? Where should I live?

I have AUS$2000 a month for accomodation? Its just my wife and I, both under 30. We love the beach, but leaving London, we would also love to rediscover space! Any help?

Hi. Good news - Adelaide has amazing beaches AND plenty of spacious blocks! First of all, which suburb will your job be located in? If it's in the city, I suggest the beachside suburbs of Henley, Henley Beach South, West Beach, Glenelg and Grange. You will be able to rent a 3 bedroom house with a garden that is walking distance from the beach for about AUD$400 per week. There is a bike track along the beach from Semaphore down to Glenelg. Those suburbs also have frequent buses to the city. If your job is in the southern suburbs, Brighton is a lovely suburb with a great beach. If you'll be working in the northern suburbs, Semaphore is a hip and happening seaside suburb. Adelaide is a very spread out city. You can check the transport network at www.adelaidemetro.com.au You will also be here in time for Fringe, WOMAD, Adelaide Festival of Arts and Clipsal 500. Enjoy Mad March as things quieten down in winter.
