What places to avoid moving to in Adelaide

I'm going to go against the grain here a bit and offer that the Northern Suburbs are not the worst places to live, in particular to the commenter advising to avoid anywhere north of Grand Junction Road. Mawson Lakes, Parafield Gardens and Salisbury are very safe suburbs, with beautiful homes, large backyards, and plenty of parklands and wetlands to explore. Furthermore, if you're looking for a diverse neighborhood, the cuisines offered here are some of the best in Adelaide (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/02/dining/taco-quetzalcoatl-review-south-australia.html), and there are services available to multicultural groups in abundance. It is also home to the Para Creek Trail, Cobbler Creek Park which hosts a BMX track, the Kaurna Wetlands and, for the little ones, St.Kilda Giant Playground.
If you're after somewhere a more expensive and secluded, but still beautiful, you can't go past Golden Grove, Tea Tree Gully, and Northfield/Northgate. There is a real cafe culture up this way, and you will find mostly young families out here. Great restuarants too, and older style housing.
Elizabeth and Daveron Park do have a reputation, but if it's cheap housing and sporting opportunities you're after, these are the suburbs to go. Furthermore, again to the commenter saying the surrounds here are not great for kids, I advise looking to Munno Para West and Andrews Farm to see what's on offer for kids. There's the Stobehnheath Reserve and Daveron Road Park, which link up as a giant BMX track. The reserve is a stunning walk, and the playground is massive. This area is abundant with new parks, new sporting equipment's and lakes, niche museums and as an up and coming area, right now is very cheap for good quality and larger housing.
If you're after a more rural area that's still in the North, you can't go past Gawler, aka, the gateway to the Barossa! Hiking trails, creeks, cafes, pubs galore, and just overall a beautiful town that is worth the drive.
More to this, if it is a sense of community you're after, you are most likely to find it in the North. It's true, the North is considered a lower-socioeconomic area, but this is something that we here have honed in upon to create better communities. Salisbury has the highest volunteer rate in South Australia. It is also one of the most ethnically diverse suburb in Adelaide. Elizabeth and Daveron Park are ranked as poor, and yet they have been the most generous suburbs in the Coles and Woolworths Christmas Appeals. Here in the North you grow through what you go through, and I invite you to put prejudice aside and visit these communities and speak to those of us who live here to decide for yourself if it is the best or the worst in Adelaide.
Avoid living very far from the CBD if you are moving from a big city. The south and north does not have a lot to offer. It is better to live within 10 km of the city. Other than that you either have to be local or looking for country like living. Definitely stay away from Elizabeth though. I recommend north east if you will work in the city because there is an Obahn bus line that reaches the city in 10 to 15 minutes.
Try your best to avoid areas north of Regency Road, but there are some lovely areas north of Regency Road such as Northgate and Oakden. Definitely avoid anywhere north of Grand Junction Road. Yet again, there's still nice areas like Walkley Heights and Golden Grove! You should be alright there but don't go anywhere down Main North Road areas that go past Grand Junction Road. The best areas are the eastern, southern and western suburbs. Always safe, houses are beautifully kept and the areas are really nice. The southern suburbs are the best and actually have fresh air!
