Which suburbs in Adelaide have a lot of local shopping on a main road?

I'm thinking about moving to Adelaide from Sydney, and would love to be walking distance to a close by and local shopping center. Not talking about a mall, but a street that is lined with shops that has everything, fruit shops, meat shops, clothing, restaurants, cafes etc. Fun vibe, lots of shops. Which are the suburbs that have this? I have no preference in which part of Adelaide, but no further than 5-10 mins from beach, and still pretty close to the city. I realize Glenelg is that way, but probably unaffordable for me. What are other places?
