Albert Park is a glamorous and old worldly suburb in Melbourne. Some of the most beautiful architecture and close to the beach.

Hard to fault. Beautiful homes, great infrastructure notably public transport and easy access to CBD, beaches and an abundance of wonderful eateries and cafes.

In the top four most expensive suburbs in Melbourne on a $s per sqm basis. The suburb has a Heritage Overlay leaving very limited opportunities to get higher density housing stock in - preserving & enhancing the value of the existing stock. Very Melbournesque - charming historic architecture - particularly Victorian, a nice “village” feel with numerous cafes/ restaurants/retail, leafy, St Vincent Gardens - gets my vote as one of Melbourne’s most beautiful parks while the beach is also a great option. Incredibly convenient - walking distance to South Melbourne Market, Albert Park Lake & the western section of the CBD. Or a short tram or light rail ride. Albert Park Primary School & the relatively new Albert College are both very well regarded state schools. St Vincent Place & Richardson St are two of the most compelling residential streets in Melbourne. A beautiful suburb for a child to grow up in. Beautiful memories of wide clean pathways with beautiful trees. Very safe feeling and pretty quaint houses to admire.
Only downside is you need to drive or go somewhere else for a lot of things. Main supermarket is in south Melbourne. Not a whole lot of variety of shops in the village area anymore. A lot of cafes.
But still an amazing place to live.

Albert Park is located only 3km's from the CBD and is regarded as one of the most exclusive suburbs in Melbourne. One of the major attractions is how quiet the suburb is given the fact it is so close to the city. Albert Park has gorgeous beaches as well as the inner city lifestyle you would expect. I've spent a lot of time in Albert Park with work and living. Would highly recommend for those wanting an inner city suburb that is affluent. Close to the CBD, St kilda and MSAC, Albert Park really has it all. The night life isn't that great however as mentioned it's a short uber from the city or St kilda.

Albert Park is a great place to stay, it's in the centre of many important suburbs like South Melbourne and South Yarra which have great schools and shops, though Albert Park also have great schools and shops, what really takes the cake is the parks. the parks are beautiful and my family loves it. you also have easy access to the beach and the city, I don't know why more people don't just come here.

Albert Park offers so much for the lucky residents - close the beach & the city with great cafes, boutiques and restaurants in the Village. Albert Park is by far the most beautiful, characteristic & high class suburb in Melbourne within close proximity to the city. As a direct contrast to the likes of neighbouring suburb Port Melbourne where the air of 'money & elitism' oozes from all corners, Albert Park's subtle upper-class affluent vibes create an atmosphere comfortable for those that cannot really afford the real estate.
Adorned with some fabulous eateries such as Dundas & Faussett (very affordable, selection for anyone), Albert Park Deli & Kamel there is no need to venture further than the few minutes walk it takes to get from one side to another, however for those that live for adventure & exploration Albert Park offers direct passage to the Light Rail (East Brunswick to St Kilda Beach via CBD), City Link Freeway & barely a 20 minute walk to Crown Casino, easy access is an understatement.
Albert Park Lake is the diamond within the platinum white-gold ring - FIVE kilometres of glorious water embellished walking tracks, motivation for exercise has never been easier.
For those that can afford to buy (to date, $10,425 per square meter) it is a lifestyle gold mine with monetary value growing by the minute. Those that cannot - I could not more highly recommend Albert Park as the best suburb in Melbourne to rent within, however if you do find a place you can afford & love, snatch it up or it will disappear before your eyes! Also, did I mention the beach...

Having lived in Albert Park for 5 years (Little Page St), my partner and I made the decision to finally move away due to the high crime rate. Our home and or back yard were broken into 7+ times in 5 years and had our car (parked on street in front of our house) broken into 5 times! I don't know if the crime is coming from within or from those wondering in from neighbouring suburbs, but we are certainly glad we left.

Albert Park is an amazing suburb. The beach is on your doorstep while being only a 5-10 minute commute to the CBD. The community is well established, very friendly and welcoming. Great cafe's and restaurants on Bridport St and Victoria Avenue as well. Albert Park generally has wide leafy streets with renovated stunning townhouses (some of the best in all of Melbourne). Those that aren't yet renovated are a developers dream as Albert Park has some of the most expensive real estate per sq meter in Australia. And that's the only downside really, the cost to buy a house.

Albert Park is a premium suburb situated conveniently close to town.
Being in the Roof Restoration industry, i see many suburbs and Albert Park seems to catch my eye every time I pass through. It is a pretty suburb, with beautiful houses and worth every dollar these properties are worth.

Such a great lifestyle, can't go wrong here in Albert Park. Prices are very very high, but if you can afford it then it's a really great suburb to live.

With almost 6,000 residents it is an affluent area well suited to professionals and families. Albert Park boasts a reserve, the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit, Kerferd Pier, an award winning burger place, St Vincent Gardens and the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Home to a predominant mixture of Edwardian and Victorian homes as well historic buildings which have been converted into apartments, Albert Park’s properties average at a cool $1.1 million.

Just 3 km from the Melbourne CBD, Albert Park is a good inner city suburb with lots to offer.

The suburb has some very major and busy streets, where a number of companies are based, so on a quick glance the suburb can have quite an impersonal feel.

However if you dig a bit deeper you will find some charming streets and cafe strips with heritage buildings and open air cafes. The suburb is centred around the huge Albert Park, which is a great location for jogging, cycling or taking a long walk. It is also home to a number of music festivals and concerts throughout the year, not to mention the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix, so there is often a great atmosphere.

On the topic of the Grand Prix, this is held some time in March/April every year, so you'll need to get your earplugs out and be aware of the restricted traffic.

This is an attractive area close to the city with a good feel. The suburb that lends its name to the park is as you'd expect right by Albert Park making easy access.

Albert Park is a very attractive area with lovel;y tree lined streets. It is well serviced by public transport so getting around without a car is easy.

It is a really short trip into the city so its ideal for anyone thats works in the city or enjoys heading in for a good night out or some shopping.

The Botanic Gardens aren't far away so you can make use of the childrens garden if you have kids, or just enjoy the local streets for a bit of a walk around.

It's not far from the beach so it really is ideally located for people that like that combination of city, surf and parks.

The streets are nice and quiet. There are a few good places to have a drink or a meal close by.

Perfect for young families, and singles and couples that work in the city with an eye to the future.
