"An emerging gem"

Cooloongup is a great alternative to surrounding suburbs in terms of value for money - I don't think it's going to last though, as people are cottoning on (and pesky east coast investors are driving the values up). I am seeing the demographics of the area changing, as what were some rough pockets are gentrifying due to the influx of money coming into the area.

Sometimes I think it is unbelievable that you can get still get a family home that is 5 minutes away from beautiful beaches and transport for such a low price... in Australia!

With the amount of government infrastructure and big companies pouring into the Rockingham region, it is going to be great opportunities for people to have a good job and live a good life with everything you need at your fingertips.

Looking for a home in Cooloongup?

"Value for Money both Renting and Buying"

When Rockingham is just little out of your price range, Cooloongup is right next door. It shares the same facilities, but does have the Rockingham General Hospital located in the suburb. A great IGA Supermarket and the Rockingham Train Station with connecting buses on your doorstep. For those looking for value you can't go past Cooloongup

"Cooloongup"

Cooloongup has some very affordable properties if you are looking to get into the market its a great place to start but be sure to do drive bys before you buy and make suer you are choosing the right street for you. The Woodbridge estate has some great streets and some really nice properties, but there are other parts of cooloongup with really old 3 x 1's that seem to attract the wrong crowd.

It is close to the hosiptal and the Golf course and close to public transport etc, not too far from the beach. The IGA shopping centre is huge and always well stocked and the staff are really friendly.

It probably wouldnt be my first choice of suburbs but there are people that love it. You can definitely pick up some great priced house in Coolongup

I think that's a fair assessment. However the undesirables seem to have been priced out, with the recent skyrocketing in rents.

"A coastal, hidden gem of a suburb!- Perfect balance of everything you could want"

Cooloongup has so many great qualities I never considered when I previously lived in surrounding suburbs over the years - including Safety Bay, Rockingham Beach & Shoalwater)
I now have a house here and love it!
Cooloongup is close enough to the beach to walk or ride, yet is set back enough to be protected from winter storm events, the strong summer seabreezes, salt damage & seaweed smell. The seabreeze cools in the day still but dies off far earlier in the evening than in Safety Bay & Shoalwater - so I have found we can enjoy our backyard more often on warm nights - a friends house in shoalwater at the same time of day is noticeable very windy.
Many well vegetated parks with tall trees, walk trails & the bonus of the huge natural bushland area of Lake Cooloongup.
Surprisingly affordable houses on huge, traditional block sizes, yet the houses are all well build, modern (80's onwards) homes- so they are easy and cheap to renovate compared to some of the 50's & 60's houses closer to the beach (ie no roof asbestos, standard doors and windows, modern features etc.)
Great for gardens compared to surrounding suburbs due to the older nutrient rich soil, plus amazingly clean, accessible bore water.
Great friendly people & safe community atmosphere. Great schools.
Super close to the hospital - it was amazing to be a 1 minute drive to the hospital when my wife was pregnant.
Quiet streets while still having easy, quick access onto major roads to get to the city for work, or you can walk to one of two train stations.
Even my parents in law have since moved from Safety Bay to Cooloongup to enjoy having more room for a shed, veggie garden & park a Caravan- Plus they still had room on the block to extend the house.

"Good, lots of potential"

Growing developments, this area is sure to have a growth in median prices over the next five years. close parks, facilitating boys cricket, playgrounds, dog walks. Although some parts are dodgy. Friends who live here love it and find their neighbors very friendly.

Great for

  • Close to rockingham and Waikiki
  • Great potential for renovators and rentals
  • Cheap,

Not great for

  • You must know which street to buy in, some streets can be totally different to others.

Any insider information as to what streets to avoid :) Thanks

In my experience, the area is rapidly gentrifying. The influx of government infrastructure is a real positive for the region. There were some parts with undesirables in the old 3x1, but they are getting priced out with the rents going through the roof.
