How is Elizabeth Park's gated community Liverpool Place?

Hi,
For some time now, my husband and I have been trying to moving to a rental house (from a rental apartment). We can't afford the houses in the top suburbs so we're thinking of going for a cheaper suburb like Elizabeth. However, due to its horrible reputation, I'm not keen on moving into just about any cheap house I see in Elizabeth. I want to make sure the area is relatively better and secure than the rest of the infamous areas of Elizabeth. I recently came across a gated community in Elizabeth Park's "Liverpool Place." I have never lived in or near Elizabeth so I have no idea what areas of Elizabeth are better than the rest and whether this gated community is actually any safer. Please can someone shine any light on this? I'd greatly appreciate it!!
