Non snobby Gym\fitness center on the lower east side
One more q, can anyone recommend a good gym in the lower east side area. I'm just getting settled, and feeling a little bit tubby. New life, new leaf n all that, so i thought i would hit the gym.
I'm not looking for a gym with snobs...been there, done that, hated it.
Any takers?

The YMCA turns out to have some very nice facilities, and at a very nice price. I've heard stories how the Queens facilities are grubby and unkempt, but the Chinatown YMCA at the Bowery and Houston (short walk for you, depending on where in the LES you are) is nice! Everything's clean and new, and they have a fantastic swimming pool and small sauna.
