First Home Buyer Suburb Recommendation - MEL

I am new to Melbourne and wish to be a homeowner soon. With limited time and knowledge so far, can you recommend some good suburbs to start my homeowner journey? I like Eastern suburbs but I don't think I can afford them. Pls recommend some good suburbs in West and North. $650k - $700k. Standalone houses only.
