Reviews of Milton, QLD

"Milton - Brisbane's Little Italy"

If you like inner city convenience, al fresco dining or Italians, you'll love Milton. Milton has a "classy" and professional vibe to it. Milton is the neighbouring suburb to the Brisbane CBD and so offers a variety of transport options including train, bus or pedestrian access to the inner city.

Milton is well known for Park Road, a strip of trendy bars and restaurants, particularly popular with Italians although there are Chinese and Asian restaurants too. Also home to the iconic XXXX Queensland Beer brewery. Milton was traditionally home to many original homes but there are more and more residential highrise developments appearing and so it seems to get trendier by the day. There is also a good mix of industrial, commercial and retail surrounding Park Road.

For kids, Milton is home to one of the best playgrounds, known to locals as "The Train Playground" which is on Moggill Road one block from Park Road. Milton State School is one of the most popular schools in Brisbane.

In my opinion, Milton would have to be one of the fastest growing suburbs in Brisbane and will always be popular due to its uniquely convenient position which is unrivalled in Brisbane.

"CBD suburb Milton!"

Milton is a fantastic place to live with everything at your finger tips. The city of Brisbane is literally on your doorstep and bargains can be bought here with good rental returns.

"Flood prone disaster area"

You do not want to live in Milton as it floods and well overpriced. Also it is close by to a cemetery which is very bad luck, be extremely careful if you are actually considering purchasing here.

Which inner suburb is less likely to flood as I am moving there soon to work at local hospital?

"Close to the CBD"

It is close to the CBD and can get very congested with traffic during peak hour.

"Locals say no highrises to be built in the Milton/Auchenflower area"

We love our part of Brisbane, our children love this part of town
More green space is needed at the old Milton tennis centre land site so developers BUILD YOUR HIGHRISES DOWNTOWN!

This suburb Milton and it's surrounding neighbourhood suburbs of Auchenflower, Rosalie, Paddington, Rainworth and Bardon will not be bullied into having highrises, office space and a hotel built when the old Milton tennis court land has been zoned for the purpose of sport and recreation.

We do not want increased traffic, density, infrastructure issues adversely affecting our local area.We already have fantastic restaurants, cafes but our children and families and community desperately need more green space.

The developers, Newman's 'Can do' council, Smart State? Anna Bligh's government, Minister for infrastructure Stirling Hinchley and the courts have to listen to the locals and consult with us.

A copy of this development application is available on the Brisbane City Council website www.brisbane.qld.gov.au (Application number -A002694787)

Real estate developers need to get real and realise that our community WILL NOT let this excessive developement of OUR green space go ahead.

"Miltons combination of cafes and commerce"

Milton is a unique suburb in brisbane with cafes where you can sit outside and enjoy to sun. Clos to Universities, medical facilities, the city and night life. Its position is great for long term growth if looking to buy as an investor.

The only downside is the access to the highway and Gold and sunny coast overall i would rank it a 7.5/10.

"The suburb of cafés. This is one of the first areas in Brisbane that catered to serious outdoor eating."

Milton was the initiator of outdoor eating in Brisbane restaurants. The main street of Milton is about 50% devoted to restaurants that have quite large outdoor eating areas. Only 5 mins drive from Brisbane centre, Milton gained in popularity very quickly and has maintained this support over the years.

It is THE Place to be for the in set. Just look down the street and see the racy sports cars, the latest BMW and so on.

Supporting the restaurants in this area are also the boutique jewellery shops, clothing boutiques and the like. In total, it is a very trendy place to be.

Being so close to Brisbane city centre Milton is quite a popular place to live. Suncorp Stadium is within walking distance and this brings many visitors into the area on a regular basis.

A lot of businesses have their premises here as it is only a quick drive into town if there is a need to meet clients or business associates.
