We moved from Beaumaris a few years ago and are so glad we got here before the pandemic pushed the prices right up. We have almost an acre in the woodlands estate, so close to the village but it feels like we are on our own little oasis in the tree tops waking up each morning to the kookaburras. So many gorgeous cafes and wineries, not just in Mount Eliza but surrounds. Mornington in summer is as vibey as any street in Melbourne but the quietness of Mount Eliza is a few minutes away is a safe haven to return home to. The only downside I can think of is that people burn off in winter a lot and powertools start up on a Saturday morning - these bigger blocks need a fair bit of upkeep. Schools choices are up there with Melbourne. Best of both worlds.

I’ve lived in Mt Eliza for 8 years (moved from Wheelers Hill) and I’ve never looked back. My kids go to the local primary school (one of the four great schools - you can’t go wrong with any of them) and made lots of wonderful friends.
There are lots of green spaces, parks and beaches. The atmosphere is friendly, community feel, and you feel safe everywhere you go. We leave our kids’ bikes and scooters in our front yards and have never had issues with theft or crappy neighbours. As the blocks are bigger than suburban blocks, you also have more privacy.

Moved here approximately 12 months ago. Moved from a small block in Aspendale which was getting overrun with 4 storey apartment blocks. Best decision we ever made. We got a great house on a great block with a pool and tennis court for the same price. It’s the best watching your kids run around the backyard with plenty of room to play and grow. Neighbours and community are great looking forward to the next 30 years in our family home.

Closest Peninsula suburb to the CBD with the ocean/rural lifestyle that everyone wants. Love it. My sister lives there. Hope to live there one day.

Taka closer look, under the veneer and you will see it for what it is. Do your homework/research. Visit it and you will see the real truth, dotted by aged care facilities. Not as posh or sophisticated as they would like to think it is. It is no longer as pleasant as it was over 10 years ago as the demographic has changed. Stacks of wannabes and nomads with no taste or culture. It is not Camberwell, Brighton, Canterbury, Hawthorn or Toorak. Residents don't ring up the council to get graffiti cleaned up. Subdividing galore has gone on sadly, destroying Walter Burley Griffin's orignal vision for Mount Eliza. All the grand old mansions have been levelled for subdivision purposes. How much smaller can you get! All over Victoria, once picturesque, pristine places have been ruined by subdivisions.

Great people, great village, beautiful beaches, no subdivisions allowed, great schools, dining, coffee. I've lived in four first world countries and all over Greater Melbourne (South Yarra, St. Kilda, Williamstown, Carlton, Surrey Hills, Brighton, Beaumaris, Sandringham, South Melbourne). Mount Eliza is hands down the best.

Beautiful diverse area with something to suit everyone. Not only are there lovely beaches but you can also live in a 'bush' setting on the other side of Nepean highway. Either way you can't go wrong. Quinns estate area is peaceful and wonderfully family-friendly. Such a great neighbourly community and I absolutely love living here. My friends always comment on how it feels like living in the Dandenongs and yet only 5 mins drive to the beach! Houses get snapped up pretty quickly and people don't tend to leave once here.

What an amazing part of the world to live in... surrounded by beautiful beaches and attractions, this stunning suburb has it all.. I instantly felt at home when settling into the area because the local community is full of friendly, wonderful people - it’s almost as though we are all one big extended family..

I fell in love with Mount Eliza thirty years ago, when I was lucky enough to live and work there for a while.
Although it’s grown a huge amount since then, it has managed to hang onto its small town, homely feel.

I am not living in this area because of global warming. Rising sea level will be disaster.

An enviable and exclusive locale, a dream location, situated within strolling distance to the beach, boutiques, and cafes of Mt Eliza Village. The town is super pretty and has excellent shopping and dining options. The Ranaleigh Country Club is also a really great place to hold a function and the local pub (Canadian Bay Hotel) is fantastic!

Mount Eliza is a lovely place to live. We live in the beautiful Quinns estate area of Mount Eliza. We have lived here for over 15 years and we love it (as do all our neighbours - no one wants to leave!!) So peaceful, leafy and idyllic. A bit of bush by the sea! Can't ask for more than that! Lot's of houses in this area also have lovely views of the bay or the Moorooduc plains as it is the 'hilly' part of Mount Eliza. A great little cafe within strolling distance at the top of Mountain View Rd and and only a few minutes drive to the Village. Will never live anywhere else :-)

Mount Eliza is located on the coast between the large centres of Frankston and Mornington on the Mornington Peninsula. We are lucky to have the mountains and sea with secluded sandy beaches in small bays and coves and stunning walking trails incorporating the former Moorooduc Quarry and offers views across the surrounding plains.
We have an attractive commercial centre which is located approximately one kilometre inland along Mount Eliza Way and Canadian Bay Road which has many specialty shops, IGA and Woolworth’s super markets and a fabulous choice of restaurants.
We have a number of social and sporting clubs including the bowling club, tennis clubs, football club, cricket club and the Canadian Bay Club and the Ranelagh Clubs.
The farmers market is held once a month in the heart of village and depending on the season, shoppers will find both organic grown fruit and vegetables, free-range eggs, meat, smallgoods, bread, boutique beers and wine and free entertainment.
We are also blessed with excellent state, catholic and private schools including Mt Eliza North Primary, Mt Eliza Primary, Kunyung Primary, Toorak College, Peninsula Grammar, St Thomas More and Mt Eliza Secondary.

I absolutely LOVE Mt Eliza.

The first time I drove through the village I fell in love with the vibe.

Driving around the streets I knew this is where I want to live as it felt safe and is beautiful.

Once I saw Kunyung Primary School and its view out over the bay I started making plans to move to the area so my child could go to this amazing school.

Mt Eliza has the best of both worlds. It has amazing beaches and also great woodlands with lots of wildlife all with being easy driving distant to CBD.

So glad to now call Mt Eliza home.

Perfection. Out of the rat race yet amongst multi million dollar homes beachside living at its best.

Having lived here for almost a quarter of my lifetime, Mt Eliza will almost always be home to my schooling and childhood.

The suburb is quite underrated compared to the more notable big hitters Sorrento and Portsea. There are excellent schools within the area. I went to Mt Eliza Primary School and the state scedonary scool along Canadian Bay road. For girls, Toorak College is a consistent performer alongside the more notable Peninsula School. I went to the local kinder too- fond memories

The Village is very quiet and peaceful- perfect ofr a short stroll or a bite to eat.

People are friendly and delightful- although late last year at the local newsagent, for the very first time in my life, I met a woman who was quite, well, dare I say it, both inconsiderate and childish. But that was just only one person- 99% of the people within this area are lovely and delightful!

I still try to make up lost time with some old school chums every now and then- althought they have gone their seperate ways.

Houses are a mixture but for the very best one needs to drive down Kunyung Road, Canadian Bay Road and the streets off Old Mornington Road and Toorak College for panoramic ocean, bay views and grand mansions.

Oh and don't forget the Manyung Gallery! Haven't been there before but will give it a shot one day!

No matter where I move off to in either Melbourne or interstate- I will still refer to Mt Eliza as home

Mt Eliza is a lovely quiet place to live. It is not too far from Melbourne and easy distance to all the peninsula has to offer. Shopping is quite good and it is close to Frankston for the bigger stores like Myer, target and K-mart.

If you are from Mt Eliza You do not boast of how great it is to live there. 'World's Best Kept Secret' is on the lips of all who live there. Good Beaches, schools, cafe's restaurants (Italian, Vietnamese, French, Chinese, Tapas,Japanese, Pub, Bar and Fine Dining, Several fine dining restaurants) Good Value Real Estate. Good Transport and access roads to Melbourne CBD. Gateway to Mornington Peninsula and acces to many wineries stawberry, rasberry and produce from farmers markets.

Restaurants to name a few are Vinnies, Spoon at Mount Eliza, Manyung Gallery (Great Art & Food) Bistro Maison, Canadian Bay Bistro. The Nursery on the corner of Mt Eliza Way & Nepean Highway. Many Cafes. Great for spotting Celebrities. Supermarkets - Safeway and Richies. Several hairdressers, pharmacies Two Great butchers and meat from the supermarkets are great. Fresh produse store and several great bakeries. Mens, children, ladies clothing & boutique shops.

Mount Eliza is not a public thoroughfare so you do not get the tourists. Quaint village, tree lined streets. Safe and Friendly

Easy public transport to the Melbourne CBD and Portsea Great shuttle bus to Melbourne Airport

A great selection of schools and kindergardens to choose from. Great sense of community Good recreational facilities. Permanent caring community with a great level of participation from residents who look after their own.

Lovely spot, with great landscape and schools. Nice beaches although Mornington and Frankston beaches are a little better.

Mt Eliza is a unique community where the bush meets the sea. Some argue that Mt Eliza is a bayside suburb of Melbourne because it's only an hour from Melbourne Airport and 45 minutes to the city. Others insist it's a seaside village on the Mornington Peninsula. Whichever way you look at it, is an easy commute to the city or any other part of Melbourne. Mt Eliza has a wonderful seaside village atmosphere which hasn't changed since I was a kid and many of my old friends have never left the area. Although the value of real estate is high, the locals are very friendly and have a great community spirit.

The best streets in Mt Eliza are not necessarily those closest to the beach. The Mt Eliza Woodland, which is the leafy timbered area bordered by Nepean and Moorooduc Highways, and Canadian Bay and Humphries Roads, is a unique part of Victoria because it's covered in trees and indigenous shrubs and the blocks are 2/3 acre or more. The real estate in this tightly held pocket is highly prized.

Mount Eliza is a wonderful seaside area full of birds, trees and relaxed friendly people. Mt Eliza folk don't feel like rodents in a rat race - and that's not surprising because they live in one of the most beautiful areas in Australia, the Mornington Peninsula. The shopping centre in Mt Eliza is a quaint and prosperous little village where you can spend your cash in exclusive boutiques or op shops, read the papers and eat a delicious breakfast in one of the terrific coffee shops, take a long walk on the beach, watch multi-coloured lorikeets winging through the sky, see wild ducks and their babies waddling down your street, shop in nearby Frankston or Mornington - and all this only an hour from Melbourne's CBD! We have lived all over Melbourne but after 5 years in Mt Eliza, we know we could never leave it - we feel so very lucky to live in this lovely country-style area.
