Snow in NYC?
Me, I love the snow! It's warmer when there's snow than when it's just plain windy/miserable. My favorite snow places to play/roll/act like a five year old are the steep hill behind the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the meadow at 97th and 5th, both in Central Park. Cedar Hill is also good for tobogganing.
Hwo do you deal with the snow in NYC?

Snow is alright as long as I don't have to dig my car out of it. I finally invested in some snow boots, so now I am less likely to slip to my death when I step outside.
Being from Florida I am not exactly equipped for the cold. I am really not a fan of 20 degree weather, but actual snow does something to alleviate the pain. A good blizzard is pretty fun once in a while, and who could pass up a good snowball fight, really.
I love watching snow fall. And I know we need it to kill the germs in the air, but I hate to drive on it. I even hate to walk on it, unless I have a good pair of snow shoes on.
@BroadwayBk I second your thoughts and hurrah for snow boots! I havent really played in the snow in NYC maybe Wednesday's anticipated blizzard might just give me the chance.
The most gorgeous NYC sight I've seen in a long while was Park Avenue last winter when the first snow had fallen - just this long, endless stream of white...absolutely beautiful!
Right about mid-February I usually feel I've seen enough of snow already. Funny how very charming it can be in October...
Well, folks, here comes more snow. This time NYC is not going to get spared. We are expecting to get hit hard. A total of nearly 2 feet is expected in the city.
Looks like plenty of snowmen and snowball fights in the works.
I just got back from my local Morton Williams grocery store it was absolutely mobbed at 3pm guess everyone is fearing the 'Snowmageddon'!
is it really supposed to be that bad? I am looking forward to not having to move my car until Monday. I seem to have caught that bug that is going around and would like to not leave the house for a few days anyway.
@BroadwayBk the warnings seem pretty dire.. do keep warm and drink lots of warm liquids. Feel better soon.
Wow, this sounds absolutely crazy! Hot tea/chocolate and a good book sounds like the order of the day.
Hope you feel better, BroadwayBK. And yes, it will be that bad. In fact, it is that bad.
@uptowngirl @hhusted Thanks for the well-wishes. It seems to have just been a 24 hour thing - I feel much better today.
Can't believe how much snow came down!
Goodness! Guess it's time to get our the rubber boots again. Not that I had packed them up for the season anyway...
Glad to see you back in the saddle, @BroadwayBK. How do you plan to celebrate your return to the joys and tribulations of NYC life, eh?
@everyone I think more snow is forecast for Monday at least according to ABC news...
Gaaaa...uptowngirl, I think I'm going stir-crazy...
I had my first experience digging my car out of the snow yesterday. I was at it for about a minute before my neighbor rescued me. I must have really looked like I didn't know what I was doing - but man, shoveling snow is harder than it looks, even when it's just freshly come down.
@Uptowngirl: Are you saying we will be getting more snow next Monday, the 15th?
That's what the forecasters say but haven't listened to the news today.
