Redbank Plains

"Don't knock this off your list just yet!"

I have been working in this area since 2010 and have found a huge change, recently the ability to access the Centenary Motorway has opened up via Edens Crossing Estate and have seen more Defence Personal choosing this area as a place to live. It is easy access to the Amberley Air Base and very affordable - new or near new homes for under $400,000 and a median sale price of $335,000. Rent prices range from $300-$450 per week depending on the home with the median currently $335 per week.
By far my favorite part of this suburb is the access to the White Rock Conservation estate for bushwalkers, horse riders and mountain bikers.
We also have the White Rock Estate opening up across the way which is going to offer premium housing for home builders.
If you need any more information on the area, I am happy to help!

since writing this review the price point has jumped around $100k on average. Still is a great place for families.
You could look at something a little older in the area that would be possible around the $400,000 mark and I have even seen units at $250-300k

Spring Mountain

"Spring Mountain Greenbank"

Not to be confused with Springfield Rise. Spring Mountain is an acreage estate located next to Greenbank 4124 . With great size blocks, most have been cleared and are flat. Large new homes with manicured lawns, sheds and pools this is a really great location for families looking for a quality lifestyle. Currently public school choice is limited to Greenbank Primary, but there is a new Primary coming to the end of Pub Lane in 2022.
The public High School is Park Ridge, but some teens also travel to Flagstone High. There are options to bus into Springfield or Jimboomba for Private schooling as well.
If you need any more information on the area, I am happy to help! My boys attend Greenbank Primary School and have lived in the area for since 2010

Camira

"Only 25km from Brisbane"

What a hidden gem of a suburb! With older homes and big back yards and a median rent of $365 per week this is a really affordable area for families. Access to schools and highway make it very convenient. The closest shopping area is the Springfield Coles or Goodna Woolworths or larger shops at the Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre. with large blocks of land this area is quickly being snapped up by young couples wanting a bit of open space to start and grow families.

Springfield

"It's a place that has everything you need."

Springfield was the first suburb of the first privately built city in Australia and the country's largest master planned community. First dubbed Forest Lakes poor cousin it has quickly become the place to be for many Queenslanders looking for a home with all the facilities, that is affordable and not too far from Brisbane. Springfield is located in between Springfield Central/Springfield Lakes/Camira which means it has good access to the highway, has its very own Train Station. This suburb is home of one of the main public high schools of the area Woodcrest State College and The Springfield Anglican College. I highly recommend the medical facilities in Commercial Drive with walk in appointments which is great for the busy working mum with accident prone kids !
With homes in the area built around the mid 1990's these are solid properties with block sizes around 650sqm. Great bones and easy to renovate and modernise.

Augustine Heights

"Great breeze up on the hill!"

Not often you can find a breezy place to live out this far west of Brisbane, but if anything Augustine Heights offers plenty of breeze up on the top section off Benezet Drive. Majority of the homes are of good size with larger bedrooms extra living spaces and often of higher quality inclusions.
Augustine Heights is closely located to local Woolworths Brookwater with Chemist, Bottleshop, Hair Dresser, Bakery and GREAT Sushi! Or there is a local IGA located just of Leon Capra Drive where you will also find Sushi! and a couple of other food outlets, Hair Dresser, Pool Shop and Bottleshop.
There are two popular prominent schools that often I hear recommended Saint Augustine College for Prep to year 12, and Augusta State School is Prep to year 6.

Springfield Lakes

"Connected paths and plenty of parks"

I remember driving to the old Springfield back in 2003 thinking whom would want to live alllll the way out here. But from the moment I read the book "Stop Not Till the Goal is Reached" by Maha Sinnathamby I knew that I wanted to be a part of this community. Maha had a 'master plan' that has created a connected community that has risen from the bush out west of Brisbane in Ipswich on unwanted land. I personally enjoy the outdoor spaces, the parks for children to play and the connected pathways that take you just about everywhere. It really is a space that while houses are close, the parks and paths to explore are closer.

Greenbank

"My home - close but far away all in one"

My husband and I moved here in 2013 . Greenbank has become our home and we love that we have green space around us, we feel we live in the country, with all the amenities not far away . Our neighbors are amazing, they keep to themselves but always open to lend a hand without invading space. We now have two children, both whom attend the Greenbank School which when we would drive past assumed it was a small school, but its far from small yet is run with control and a personal touch. We have met so many local families who are friendly and down to earth and made us feel a part of a great community.
By far the most awesome part of living is greenbank is access to the Spring Mountain Forest Park right on our door stop. We love to spend time outdoors and often take a family hike 'out the back'

The Greenbank Primary School is the local catchment for Prep to Grade 6, the local highschool is Park Ridge High School . There is also the Flagstone High which some choose to go to as it isn't too far away .
Greenbank also has good access to a number of Private Schools in the Springfield Region with good bus services to those.

Hope that helps!

If you keep around the house tidy the snakes tend to stay away, they are harmless and unless you leave your doors and windows open they stay outside
